EU Battery Passports Move Into Supply-Chain Readiness
The EU Battery Regulation is turning carbon footprints, raw-material due diligence and digital traceability into procurement and financing requirements.
Preparation for battery passports covering electric vehicles, light means of transport and large industrial batteries is pushing manufacturers, material suppliers and recyclers toward common data structures. Companies are expected to organize battery identity, key-material origin, performance and lifecycle information in advance.
The trend will affect exporters outside the EU because European customers may require auditable data interfaces. Suppliers able to document standardized data, lower-carbon materials and recycling routes should be better positioned for long-term European sourcing.
